Why had I never had groats before now?

Posted by Stan on 29th Dec 2012

You would think that at my age I would have known about groats, but sadly this is my first experience. This is the best stuff. I love it! It is oatmeal with an attitude. I cook it in a slow cooker over night on low. Put the left-overs in the fridge and heat up in the microwave throughout the week. What is even better (although probably not extremely healthy), but put a little butter in a fry pan and reheat them, putting a little crust on them, kind of like groat pancakes. Read on the internet about cooking them in a ricer - thinking about getting one of those.
